Mystic Gems Slots
If we asked you to find a slot game that included gems in the design, we suspect you'd be gone for two seconds before you found one. These slots are widely available from many developers.
And we now have another one to add to that collection. Introducing Mystic Gems, the new game from a leading developer that looks set to impress those who try it. We've already done that, and we're ready to give you details on it here.
Developer details for Mystic Gems
It's another game to add to the vast collection from WGS.
Can you try it first?
Yes, there is no need to pay to play the game until or unless you are ready. The demo works exactly as the real thing does, with a $3,000 demo balance to play with.
No surprises about the theme
We're looking at several gems of varying values on the reels. There's a beetle involved too, oddly, but even that displays a diamond in front of it. The backdrop shows a star-filled setting, which often goes well with gem-filled slots.
A basic design but a pleasant one
There is nothing too surprising about the design. There are similarities with Starburst, the famous slot from NetEnt, although this one does differ from that in several ways.
Let's get underway with the Mystic Gems slot
When you load the game, five reels appear, separated by thin lines. The numbered lines appear on either side of the game. The slot doesn't qualify as a progressive jackpot title though.
The game does include a wild, and it's the golden beetle with a blue diamond just above its claws (or pincers, whatever they're called). It can show up on the second, third, or fourth reels of the slot. It can also show up in stacks. That's important for reasons we'll reveal later in our game review. As usual, the wild won't sub for the scatter.
How many lines are there?
You've got 10 in this game, but instead of paying only from left to right as usual, they pay from right to left too.
Place some bets on the game
The coin values start at one cent and reach their top value at $5. That gives us a penny slot with potential to wager more.
The info logo reveals the paytable
It's tucked away in the bottom left corner of the game screen.
A small but welcome bonus feature
There is a scatter in this game, but it can only turn up on the middle reel. It must appear in all three spots there to unlock the Mystery Multiplier feature. This is a quick but nice one, because you get a random prize of at least your triggering bet back but possibly up to 500x your bet.
Respins replace free spins
If a full stack of wilds turns up on any of those center reels, the wilds stay where they are, and you get some respins of the remaining reels. The idea is that you get two, three, or four respins according to the numbered reel the stacked wilds appeared on.
The game has a good RTP
Some slots are more generous than others, and while this isn't at the top of the heap, it does give us a return to player value of 97%.
Our rating for the Mystic Gems slot game
We can get behind a lot of spins of this one. It's like an enhanced version of Starburst. Will others agree? We're giving it 8/10. See what you think when you try it.
How much is the best prize worth?
Five gold coins featuring the number 7 in the middle is the best you can get here. This would trigger a prize of 600x your line bet.
The demo allows you to try it for size
Curious to know how the game would play out if you tried it? Load the demo and find out with the safety of a demo balance on your side.
Playing for real is fine from 10 cents a time
The game offers a pleasing range of wagers, so it's one to consider if you are looking for an affordable five-reel slot to play. If you are going to join a casino to play the real version, look for some signup bonuses before doing so. You might even get a no deposit bonus to play the game with for starters.
The game is also available on mobile platforms
Find a WGS casino, visit on a tablet or smartphone, and try the mobile version of Mystic Gems today. It's a good one to check out, especially if you like things kept quite simple.
